| Description | : | Mastoid radiographs or a CT scan will reveal evidence, fluid within the mastoid air cells and the dissolution or breakdown of the bony trabeculae which separate the a cells (coalescent mastoiditis). It should be noted, however that mastoid radiographs may be neither diagnostic nor helpful in the management of these cases. |
