The glomus tympanicum is a small and localized paraganglioma that is confined to the middle ear cavity originates from one of the glomus bodies of the middle ear mucosa.
This type of glomus tumor usually presents with pulsatile or roaring tinnitus, a unilateral conductive hearing loss, and a red pulsatile mass which is located behind an intact tympanic membrane. |
